Day 1: International Arrival in Lima
Upon Arrival in Lima, reception at the airport by an Andean American Tours representative and transfer to the selected hostel. No meals included.
Day 2: Lima - Sightseeing Tour
Breakfast in your hostel.
Free morning to explore Lima at leisure. Lunch on your own.
In the afternoon. We will pick you up for a city tour of colonial Lima, the world heritage city. Tour in an air conditioned bus with an english speaking guide. The tour will include a visit to the Cathedral, Main Square and the San Francisco Convent with its eerie Catacombs housing thousands of skeletons and bones. Return back to the hostel. Dinner in a local Rest.
Day 3: Lima - Cuzco: Sightseeing Tour and Visit to Nearby Ruins

Breakfast. Early in the morning transfer to Lima Airport to board your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival transfer to the selected hostel. Remainder of the morning free to rest and get used to the altitude.
In the afternoon, guided sightseeing tour in Cusco visiting the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Korikancha. Then, we drive out of the City to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, strategically built on a hill overlooking Cusco, famous for its enormous carved stones, some of them standing over 9 m /30 ft high and weighing over 130 tons. Transfer to the hostel. Lunch and dinner on your own.
Day 4: Sacred Valley of the Inkas

Full-day excursion to the "Sacred Valley of the Inkas", by the Urubamba River. The tour is best on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays (because the markets are busier) although this tour runs every day of the week. Our first visit will be to Pisac, founded during Colonial times. Free time to shop or simply watch the locals going by their everyday lives. After the visit, we will have a great buffet lunch with emphasis on locally grown organic produce in the Urubamba valley. After lunch, a visit to Ollantaytambo, the ancient Inca town with impressive ruins built into the mountain side. built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley, and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes in the lower jungle. The Fortress consists of a series of stepped carved stone terraces accessed by long staircases.Transfer to the hostel. Dinner on your own.
Day 5: Maras – Moray

We will leave the hotel and head for the salt pans of Maras, which have been exploited since Inca times using a system of evaporation of salt water in a series of pools fed by a subterranean stream. There are hundreds of pools at these mines. We will then visit the archaeological remains of Moray, which consist of concentric circular agricultural terraces. Each circle is a terrace superimposed on another terrace, with each circle of a greater circumference than the one below. Those who have studied Moray believe that it was an Inca agricultural research station where experiments were carried out to produce crops for different altitudes. The arrangement of these terraces reproduces the region’s distinct microclimates, with as many as twenty different ecological floors simulated at Moray. Lunch and dinner on your own.
Day 6: Machu Picchu

The day starts with an early morning transfer to Cuzco train station for a 3 ½ hours journey to the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, also known as "The Lost City of the Incas" one of the best known examples of surviving Inca architecture. Arrive at Aguas Calientes Station followed by a 30-minute bus drive, climbing 6km of winding road, to the marvellous Citadel. Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Temple of the Sun, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the hotel in Aguas Calientes, the nearest village just 25 minutes from Machupicchu by bus. Where we will also be able to enjoy the medicinal thermal pools. Dinner in a local Rest.
Day 7: Machu Picchu: Aguas Calientes - Cuzco
Breakfast in your hostel.
Excellent opportunity to wake up early and enjoy with a beautiful sunrise as well as stroll by the Town of Aguas Calientes and visit its hot spring thermal waters. Then, you will have time to perform some of the following activities: (not included in the overall tour price)
1. Visit the Citadel of Machu Picchu for the second time.
2. For the most adventurous people, we suggest to go up the Huayna Picchu (if it is not raining) from where you can appreciate the immensity of Machu Picchu, even more amazing being high and distant. Arriving at the top takes about two hours and a half and it must be before 13:00 hours. It is necessary to register in a office at the beginning of the trail. Lunch and dinner on your own.
In the afternoon, back to Cusco by train, and transfer to the hostel.
Day 8: Cuzco - Lima
Breakfast in your hostel.
Transfer to the airport and assistance on your departure.
