Día 1: INTERNATIONAL ARRIVAL IN LIMA
Arrive in Lima, reception at the airport by our Andean American Tours’ representative and transfer by private car to the hotel on the way you will receive a briefing on your tour; vouchers covering all the services included in your tour and additional information on the organization of your trip . Overnight in your selected hotel. No meals included.
Día 2: LIMA Breakfast in your hotel.
In the morning visit of Lima, colonial and modern areas: Plaza Mayor with panoramic views of the Cathedral, Archbishop’s palace, and Government Palace, we will continue with a visit to the San Francisco Convent, continue to the residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, visiting Huaca Pucllana, archaeological complex and finalizing at the Parque del Amor with a very impressive view of Lima’s coastline. Lunch at La Rosa Nautica restaurant. After lunch visit to Rafael Larco Herrera Museum. Back and overnight in your hotel. Dinner on your own
Día 3: LIMA - AREQUIPA Breakfast in your hotel.
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Arequipa, the most beautiful city in Peru. After the one hour and twenty minutes, reception and transfer to your selected hotel. In the afternoon, a guided tour of the white city, so-called because many of the buildings are made of volcanic sillar. A visit to the beautiful Cathedral, the Santa Catalina convent, and a visit to the museum to see Juanita, the best preserved mummy in South America. Situated 2300m above sea-level, Arequipa has a wonderful climate all year round with the imposing Misti volcano overlooking the city. Return to the hotel. Romantic dinner in the evening overlooking the splendid Main Square. Lunch on your own
Día 4: AREQUIPA – Colca Canyon Breakfast in your hotel.
Early departure from Arequipa, heading towards the National Reserve of Pampa de Cañahuas to view groups of alpacas, vicuñas and guanacos in their natural habitat. Descend into the Colca Valley passing several villages until we arrive at Chivay, the most important town of the valley. Accommodation at the fabulous Colca Lodge Hotel , set in the Colca Valley itself. With its very own hot springs, relax in the fabulous surroundings of the Canyon. Lunch and dinner are included
Día 5: Colca Canyon – AREQUIPA Breakfast in your hotel.
Early departure to reach the Cruz del Condor viewpoint, a few kilometers before Cabanaconde, where the Colca Canyon starts. Here one will get a fine view of the flight of the condors as well as the depth of the canyon. In the afternoon return to Arequipa and accommodation at your selected hotel. No meals included. Día 6: AREQUIPA - CUZCO Breakfast in your hotel.
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Cuzco,upon arrival , reception at the airport by our Andean American Tours representative and transfer by private car to the hotel. Lunch at own
In the afternoon, we will visit the City of Cusco on a guided tour visiting the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Koricancha (Santo Domingo’s convent). Then, we drive out of the City to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, strategically built on a hill overlooking Cusco, famous for its enormous carved stones, some of them standing over 9m/30 ft high and weighing over 130 tons. Back to your hotel. Dinner at FALLEN ANGEL Restaurant (A la Carte)
Día 7: CUZCO – Sacred Valley of the Incas Breakfast in your hotel. All day excursion to the "Sacred Valley of the Inkas", by the Urubamba River. The tour is best on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays (on Sundays a typical indian market can be seen) , although is available every day. Our first visit will be Pisac, Free time to shop or simply watch the locals going by their everyday lives. After the visit, we will have a buffet lunch with emphasis on locally grown organic produce in the Urubamba Valley. After lunch, a visit to Ollantaytambo, the ancient Inca town with impressive ruins built into the mountain side. Built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley, and protect it from possible invasions from the tribes in the lower jungle. The Fortress consists of a series of stepped carved stone terraces accessed by long staircases. At proper time back to your hotel. Dinner on your own Día 8: CUZCO – MACHU PICCHU on The Hiram Bingham train (Deluxe) Breakfast in your hotel.
At proper time transfer to Poroy’s train station, where you will be welcome with a glass of champagne or a Mimosa cocktail, board this fabulous train (Orient Express) for a 3 ½ hours journey to Aguas Calientes train station, brunch and complimentary drinks on board while enjoying the dramatic scenery of the Urubamba river, at arrival in Aguas Calientes station, walk for 5 minutes to aboard a private bus that will take you to the bus station for a 30 minutes ride to the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, also known as "The Lost City of the Incas" one of the best known examples of surviving Inca architecture. You will participate in a guided private tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Temple of the Sun, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds. After the visit , bus to Aguas Calientes, check in and accommodation in your selected hotel. Dinner in the hotel.
Día 9: MACHU PICCHU - CUZCO on The Hiram Bingham train (Deluxe) Breakfast in your hotel.
Opportunity to enjoy a wonderful sunrise over Machu Picchu and some personal time for private reflection. Lunch at the Sanctuary lodge. Return to Cuzco in the evening aboard the luxury Hiram Bingham train. Cocktails followed by dinner aboard the train. Reception and transfer to your selected hotel.
Día 10: CUZCO - LIMA Breakfast in your hotel.
Transfer to the airport for the return flight back to Lima. Reception and transfer to your selected hotel. Lunch at own.
In the afternoon visit to Rafael Larco Herrera Museum with fine textiles and pottery.
Dinner in a local restaurant (transfers included)
Día 11: LIMA Leisurely day with plenty of opportunity for shopping before your transfer to the airport and your return flight home.
